China’s NATESC prediction update: occurrence area of corn diseases and pests in 2017 to reach 73.3 million haqrcode

By Think Real - In Jan. 2016, the National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center (NATESC) updated the forecast on the occurrence trend of corn diseases and pests in 2017, according to which the occurrence will be serious, with an accumulative area of 73.3 million ha (those by pests and diseases are 54.0 million ha and 19.3 million ha respectively).
 
In detail, corn borers, underground pests, armyworms and northern leaf blight will strike Northeast China and North China the most seriously; cotton bollworms, armyworms, proxenus lepigone and brown spot will be serious in the Huanghuaihai Region; aphids, spider mites and southern leaf blight will be common in Northwest and Southwest China.
