Following the approval by the National Service of Health and Food Quality (Senasa) last November, Syngenta has announced it is already selling its new fungicide that features a combination of Adepidyn and difenoconazole. It is available for farmers under the commercial brand of Miravis Duo.

This is the first registration for a production with Adepidyn, a new fungicide that belongs to the chemical class of carboxamides.

According to the company’s explanation, Adepidyn brings a radical change in the way leaf spots diseases are managed. It offers an excellent control of the powdery mildew. This is very effective in case of diseases that are hard to control, such as Fusarium and other fungi that cause serious damage to the crops.

Syngenta is currently working in the development of several products based on Adepidyn for the treatment of different diseases in soybeans, wheat, cotton, canola, vegetables and special crops all over the world.

In Argentina, other than the registration already granted for soybeans, work is ongoing to obtain registration for other crops.

Jon Parr, global president of Crop Protection at Syngenta, highlighted that this new product “is a result of our solid experience in fungicides that include the Elatus technologies and Amistar. In order to continue offering cutting-edge products in the industry for producers, we are strengthening our global leadership in fungicides.”

The first sales of Miravis Duo are expected in the 2016/2017 season in Argentina. In other markets, regulatory approvals are pending.
