Brazil earned $25 million from export of soy complex in 2016: MDICqrcode

Brazil exported 67.175 million tons of soy complex in 2016, earning US$ 25.325 million in revenues, data released by Brazil’s Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC) recently, said.
 
 
Compared to 2015, soy complex exports fell by 4.99 percent in terms of volume and 9.10 in terms of revenue. 
 
In December, exports went up when seen on a monthly basis after declining six times, and reached 1.731 million tons, worth US$ 696.3 million. 
 
Foreign sales increased by 39.5 percent over the previous month in terms of volume, but fell 10.6 percent when compared to December 2015. 
 
In terms of revenue, the month of December registered a 46.7 percent growth compared to November. Compared to the same month of 2015, it fell by 10.1 percent. 
 
Exports of soybeans totaled 653,100 tonnes in December, an increase of 106.6 percent compared to the previous month. In comparison with the same period of 2015, when 731,400 tons were shipped, the 2016 figure reflected a 10.7 percent decline. Revenue from foreign sales of grain reached US$ 273.1 million, an increase of 108.6 percent when compared to November. 
 
In comparison with December 2015 figure of US$ 281.7 million, earnings from shipments fell by 3.1 percent. The average price of the exported product, which was US$ 418.20 per ton in December, increased when compared to November (US$ 414.2 per ton) and also when seen against December of 2015 (US$ 385.2 per ton). 
 
In 2016, soybean exports totaled 52,840 million tons, 5.12 percent below the 55.693 million tons level attained in 2015. Revenue from shipments in 2016 was US$ 19,905 million, down 5.14 percent from the US$ 20,983 million figure recorded the previous year. 
 
In case of soybean meal, exports totaled 1.012 million tons in December, an increase of 16.6 percent, compared to November. As of December 2015, when the country had sent 1,042 million tons of the commodity abroad, the decline was 2.9 percent. Export revenues in December totaled US$ 372.0 million, an increase of 23.1 percent compared to November. 
 
However, revenues showed a decrease of 3.8 percent, compared to the same period of last year when export revenues totaled US$ 386.6 million. Foreign shipments totaled 14,443 million tons in 2016, down 2.58 percent from a total of 14,826 million tons exported a year earlier. Revenue from foreign sales of the derivative amounted to US$ 5,192 million, 10.79 percent less than the US$ 5.821 million registered in 2015. 
 
As for soybean oil, exports in December totaled 66,200 tons, a 16.2 percent increase compared to a month earlier. In terms of volume, exports were 59.5 percent below the 163,500 tons level seen in December 2015. It yielded revenues worth US$ 51.2 million, an increase of 23 percent over the previous month. Compared to December 2015, when Brazil earned US$ 106.3 million in foreign sales, this represented a 51.8 fall. 
 
In 2016, Brazil exported 1.150 million tons of soybean oil, down 25.99 percent from the total of 1.553 million tons shipped in 2015. Revenue in 2016 was US$ 801.38 million, down 24.07 percent from US$ 1,055 million a year earlier.
