An effective weed control program is essential to a productive and profitable lawn care business. Without it, weed break-through can mire your business in callbacks and escalating costs.

As the exclusive distributor of Valent U.S.A. Corporation products for professional turf, ornamental and aquatic uses in the United States, Nufarm Americas recently announced that Celero Herbicide has been added to its portfolio.

With Celero post-emergent herbicide, lawn care operators can manage tough sedges in a variety of cool- and warm-season turf settings including residential and commercial turfgrass, golf courses, athletic and recreation fields, schools and sod farms.

Celero’s active ingredient – Imazosulfuron – translocates down to the roots for effective, lasting control of Kyllinga, yellow, purple and annual sedges. The product – with a wide application window – can be applied using both broadcast and spot treatment applications giving applicators flexibility in their service offerings as well as a reliable resistance management tool for hard-to-manage sedges.

Key benefits:
• Absorbed by plants through foliage and roots.
• Rapidly interferes with cell division, stopping the growth of sedges.
• Plant death usually occurs within 14 to 21 days.

Broadleaf weeds can also be eliminated with Celero further adding to the product’s value to lawn care professionals looking to add to their herbicide tool box, and provide customers with a solution to their invasive weed problems.  Burclover (California), Burweed, Chickweed (common, mouse-ear, sticky), Geranium (Carolina), Henbit, Parsley piert and Purslane (common) are among the weeds that can be controlled with Celero.
