As humanity searches for ways to feed an ever-growing world population, pioneering precision gene editing firm Cibus will play a significant role in the coming months at some of the leading biotechnology and agriculture conferences around the world. Cibus executives will provide insight into topics including the application of gene editing and the regulatory environment around new breeding techniques.

“As the first company to have commercialized a non-transgenic crop developed using gene editing, Cibus is uniquely positioned to contribute valuable insights to each of these conferences,” said Peter Beetham, Ph.D., President & Chief Executive Officer, Cibus. “We look forward to exchanging ideas with other leaders in the industry, in addition to showing the revolutionary power of Cibus’ proprietary technology.”

Cibus executives are participating at the following events:

CRISPR Europe (Berlin, Germany, October 24-26, 2016): Cibus is a sponsor of the only industry event solely dedicated to optimizing the applications of CRISPR Precision Gene Editing in Europe. Cibus has supported the Panel Discussion “Navigating the Regulatory Environment for CRISPR as Novel Breeding Technique” on Wednesday, October 26 at 9:10am.

Fortune Brainstorm HEALTH (San Diego, California, November 1-2, 2016): At this conference which focuses on the intersection of new technologies and big data with biology, President & Chief Executive Officer Peter Beetham, Ph.D., will speak at 7:45am on Wednesday, November 2 at the session “Synthetic Biology: Reprogramming the Cell”.

World Agri-Tech Investment Summit (London, England, November 2-3, 2016): Global agribusinesses, VC investors and technology start-ups from around the world come together to uncover the most exciting innovations in agricultural technology – and to forge the right partnerships to take those solutions to market. Greg Gocal, Chief Scientific Officer, will speak on Wednesday, November 2 at 11:15am on “Next Generation Plant Genetics: Editing & Beyond.”

3rd CRISPR Congress 2017 (Boston, Massachusetts, February 21-23, 2017): Cibus is a program sponsor at this Congress, which will bring together the leading figureheads as they reveal advanced methodology, strategies and clinical timelines that maximize the power of precision genome editing and fulfill its revolutionary potential.

CRISPR AgBio: USA (San Diego, California, April 25-27, 2017): Cibus is a program sponsor of the CRISPR AgBio Congress 2017. This is the first and only meeting dedicated to helping agricultural biotech and agrochemical companies leverage the power of CRISPR, advanced trait breeding technology and precision genome editing to overcome productivity challenges, increase yield and pioneer sustainable agriculture in plants breeding, crop protection and livestock.

World Science Festival (New York City, June 2016): On June 3, 2016, Noel Sauer, Director of Technology, joined luminaries at the World Science Festival 2016 in New York City. Sauer participated in the session Splicing and Dicing DNA: Genome Engineering and the CRISPR Revolution, where she spoke about precision gene editing in plants. The World Science Festival gathers great minds in science and the arts to produce live and digital content that allows a broad general audience to engage with scientific discoveries.
