Syngenta, maker of Axial brand herbicides and Quilt fungicide, recently donated $5,000 each to Farm Rescue and Feeding America as part of its “Feeding the World; Feeding Each Other” campaign.

"Syngenta is proud to assist the growers of America in producing quality grains that meet the demand of a growing population,” said Brent Rockers, Syngenta cereals crop marketing manager. “We’re cognizant of our role as stewards and strive to be a good partner to the people and communities we serve. This program allowed us to reach out to two quality organizations that are making a difference in our customers’ lives.”

The Feeding the World; Feeding Each Other campaign targeted wheat and barley growers across the Northern Plains and Pacific Northwest where these crops are integral to the livelihood of many people. The two organizations were chosen because of their commitment to these regions.

Farm Rescue’s mission is to help farm families across North Dakota, South Dakota, western Minnesota and eastern Montana who have encountered a personal crisis.

"We are pleased to announce Syngenta as the newest sponsor of Farm Rescue. Syngenta is a world-leading agribusiness that supports our mission of helping farm families during an unexpected crisis," said Bill Gross, president of Farm Rescue. "Syngenta and Farm Rescue have a common goal of helping farmers with future generations in mind."

Feeding America is dedicated to feeding America’s hungry through a nationwide network of food banks and by engaging the country in the fight to end hunger. Their network of more than 200 food banks serving all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico annually secures and distributes more than 2 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products.

Wheat is an important staple food for approximately 35 percent of the world’s population and is the source of more calories and protein in the world’s diet than any other crop.

"Supplying the country’s and the world’s population with quality wheat and barley is what we help growers do each day,” Rockers said. “At Syngenta, we strive to think like a farmer and devote ourselves to helping them increase yield and quality. This geography is the heart of spring wheat country, and we’ve equipped growers with quality products from seed to harvest to produce some of the world’s best wheat. Our line-up includes AgriPro® Seed varieties; seed treatments like Cruiser® insecticide, Dividend Extreme® fungicide and CruiserMaxx® Cereals insecticide-fungicide; herbicides like Axial XL and Orion®; and fungicides like Quilt and Tilt®.”
