Waters Corporation will showcase its new mass spectrometry solution, the Xevo® TQ-XS mass spectrometer, the most sensitive benchtop tandem quadrupole instrument available, at the 11th International ISSX Meeting in Busan, South Korea from June 12 – 16, 2016.

Also being showcased at the ISSX meeting is the ProteinWorks™ Digest Kit. The ProteinWorks kit simplifies, accelerates and standardizes the LC-MS quantification of proteins while facilitating laboratory and data consistency with a proven kit-based approach that is easily deployable from analyst to analyst, lab to lab, and sponsor to Contract Research Organization (CRO).

The Xevo TQ-XS instrument is the most sensitive benchtop tandem quadrupole available. It is equipped with an enhanced detection system that features six orders of linear dynamic range to ensure accessibility to sensitivity for challenging compounds.

Technological advances such as the StepWaveTM XS ion guide, enables the Xevo TQ-XS mass spectrometer to deliver improved sensitivity that is reproducible for multiple injections and can provide reliable quantitation at the very lowest levels. In addition, its tool-free probe design will reduce the time taken for routine maintenance and delivers improved reproducibility between users.

The Xevo TQ-XS mass spectrometer also offers a novel, proprietary UniSpray™ ionization source that enables ionization of a wider range of analytes in a single chromatographic run. The result is an increased response across a wide range of compound polarities for a broader range of compounds accompanied by a boost in signal/noise, making it possible to consolidate several analytical methods into one, or eliminate the need to change ionization sources between analyses, saving time and increasing laboratory efficiency.

Another spotlight product to be showcased by Waters at ISSX in Korea is the ProteinWorks Digest Kit, which offers scientists robust and reliable LC-MS methods and instrumentation to achieve standardized, reproducible and sensitive protein quantification via the surrogate peptide approach. The new protocols enable a bioanalytical laboratory to get faster, simpler and more robust results from small linear peptides all the way to complex monoclonal antibodies and antibody drug conjugates.

Waters will also present four scientific posters during the ISSX that will cover a range of topics, including:

Improvements in sensitivity for biotherapeutics through use of prototype TQ-MS on three types of Waters’ equipment.
The suitability of ACQUITY® M-Class UPLC® system coupled with the Xevo® G2-XS QTof mass spectrometer and the ionKey/MS™ source for routine bioanalysis and its sensitivity requirement.
Provision of data to assist in understanding the magnitude effect on data sensitivity and specificity and also practical methods of development guidance for protein bioanalysis.
Comparison of lipid imaging in a zebrafish melanoma model by positron emission tomography against desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.
