The ABCBio launches database portal on biopesticides in Brazil

The Brazilian Association of Biological Control Companies (ABCBio) has launched an internet portal that has gathered technical, commercial and legislation information in the area of biological products for plague control on Brazilian agriculture. Besides the general information about the companies that are part of the entity, the site lists the major technical reports.

The new portal includes a complete list of biopesticides registered officially in the agencies – which authorize the commercialization. There are yet offers about the risks of trade and the use of products without registration or registered for other purposes, pointing out that these procedures are crimes.

The related legislation to the sector, such as decrees, normative instructions and regulations, is available at the website of the association. These norms regulates the sector toward ministries, autarchies, government agencies and other agencies that are in charge to discipline companies.

It is also available at the portal the Conformity Program created by the Association with the goal of guaranteeing the legality and agronomic effectiveness of biological control products.
