Recently Dow AgroSciences held a China workshop for technical training of the Entrench® nitrogen fertilizer synergist. Entrench® inhibits the nitrification process, can postpone the time of transformation from ammonium to nitrate and reduce the nitrogen loss resulting from nitrification and denitrification, thus to enhance the nitrogen use efficiency. Dow AgroSciences expects the workshop to provide Chinese farmers with better knowledge on the product and its applications.

Chunlin Wang, the Technology Transfer Leader in Greater China Region of Dow AgroSciences, shared with the project leaders of China’s major crop production regions the information on the test results of applications of Entrench® to field crops and an in-depth discussion took place regarding the field tries and demonstration plans for applications of Entrench® in 2016. “With the benefits of yield increasing, fertilizer efficiency improvement and pollution reduction, we believe the use of Entrench will benefit the nation and the farmers”, he summarized.

Yang Fan, the Deputy Director of Soil and Fertilizer Technology Department of the National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center (NATESC) affiliated to Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, said that the novel nitrification inhibitor Entrench® of Dow AgroSciences effectively solves the problem of nitrogen loss, thus enhances the seasonal nitrogen use efficiency, and meanwhile increases crop yield, elevates crop quality, improves cultivation environment and provides a safeguards for farmer’s increase of yield and income. The application has attracted a high degree of attention from NATESC.

Zhu Yue, the Commercial Head of Dow AgroSciences Greater China, expressed the business concept of AgroSciences which is always to serve agriculture and farmer together via cooperation with local government. The landing of Entrench® in China reflects a specific measure of AgroSciences to respond to China’s 2020 pesticide use zero growth programs.
