Syngenta and DSM have announced an association for research and development of biological solutions based on microorganisms. The intention of the companies is to sell through a partnership on just one platform and to speed up the deliveries of natural products in the world.

According to the companies, these organisms can protect the crops and diseases, increasing the yields. The use of this type of solution can grow by two digits and in 2030 this can represent up to 10% of the global market of crop protection.

At the partnership, Syngenta will contribute to the know-how on agronomic applications and plant biotechnology, as well as access to global markets through its global presence. The Dutch company would complement with its database and decades of experience of manufacturing microbial products. Syngenta yet would offer a program of research and development for the selection of relevant micro-organisms.

"The new solutions based on micro-organisms will contribute to face the challenge of producing more food with less resources,” said the research and development chief executive of Syngenta, Trish Malarkev.
