Adama Brazil has presented to researchers a new fungicide, formulated with mancozeb, aimed mainly to the control of Asian rust in Brazil. According to the official statement of the company, it is an “innovative solution, which will enable the management of resistance of soybean diseases”.

"After years of research and investments, Adama reached an exclusive formula that allows a good quantity of applications, double protection, wide spectrum of action and long period of control, which will simplify the life of the farmer in the management of the major diseases of the soybeans,” explains project coordinator, Gerson Dalla Corte.

Dr. Erlei Melo Reis, consultant and agronomy professor of the University of Passo Fundo, comments that the “fastness of the company of presenting a pre-manufactured mixture of the formulation of dispersive granules (WG), containing mancozeb is remarkable. I see a brilliant future of Adama to control the Asian rust”.

Due to the systematic fall of the efficiency of the main fungicides used against Asian rust, this issue has been a constant worry in the last seasons. Producers claim for new tools that could contain damages caused by diseases that affect the crop and accumulate millions in losses in the last few years.

"The Adama fungicide, which is in stage of final registration, presents unique characteristics for the Brazilian market. The highly synergistic combination of two systemic fungicides and one contact fungicide establishes a new height of performance and control of the Asian rust,” says Adama at the statement.
