The 31st China Plant Protection Information Exchange & Pesticide and Sprayer Facilities Fair opened on November 22, with a press conference hosted by Bayer CropScience to launch four new products.

Velum:New-generation nematicide

Velum was showcased for its low dosages, long-lasting effect, root enhancement and low toxicity. It is the first nematicide to inhibit nematode mitochondria complex II. Velum is moderately soil mobile, moving slowly and being distributed around the roots in an even manner, preventing root infection with nematodes more effectively and for a longer time.

Council:New-star paddy soil treatment herbicide

Council’s active ingredient uses the acetolactate synthetase inhibitor triafamone, a brand new herbicidal active substance created by Bayer CropScience that will be launched globally in 2016. The 19% SC formulation effectively controls annual sedge, such as rice water grass, barnyard grass, and Ludwigia prostrate, and inhibits perennial sedge, such as arrowhead, pondweed, Bidens tripartite, and Scirpus juncoides. The interval for product applications is zero days, allowing the rice to be transplanted while the herbicide is applied, saving manpower and working hours.

Emesto:A specialist in potato black scurf

The active ingredient in this product is the unique SDHI  new compound penflufen, which does not cause cross-resistance to the existing azoxystrobin and tolclofos-methyl. The product takes the form of 22% FS. Emesto has a special effect against rhizoctonia and is capable of controlling both soil-borne and seed-borne black scurf. Further, the product enhances seedling growth.

Basta:New leader in paraquat lines

Glufosinate is the active ingredient in this product, which has a good herbicidal effect with low toxicity. The product is registered in China, covering the widest crop applications. It is currently filing registrations for application to bananas, papaya, tea gardens, vegetable gardens, grapes, oranges, and apples.
