Certis USA, the biopesticide company, has signed an agreement with Saul Borbolla Ibarra to manage the introduction and commercial development of Double Nickel® 55 WG fungicide/bactericide in Mexico to control diseases in peppers, chiles, tomatoes, potatoes and cucurbits. Borbolla will also focus on extending markets for the copper fungicide Kocide(R) 2000, Certis USA's newest product recently acquired by its parent company Mitsui & Co. Borbolla will oversee business development in Mexico for all other Certis USA insecticides, IGR, fungicides, bactericides and acaricides used in vegetable crops in Mexico. Borbolla, who has more than 10 years of experience with biocontrols, will work closely with Summit Agro Mexico S.A. de C.V. (SAM), a distributor of Certis USA products in Mexico.

Tim Damico, Certis USA Executive VP, NAFTA, said, “We have excellent representation of our products from SAM. Saul’s involvement, with his 30-year history in agrochemicals and specialty in biopesticides and biological portfolios, gives both SAM and Certis USA an additional layer of expertise, marketing strategy and technical assistance. We look forward to working with Saul.”

Borbolla previously served as manager of sales and marketing for a number of Mexico’s agrochemical companies, including BAYER de Mexico, AGRAQUEST DE MEXICO, FMC Agroquimica de Mexico and DOW AgroScience de Mexico. He has been a professor and researcher at the Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa, Mexico responsible for Entomology and Biological Control.

Borbolla has a degree in agronomy from the University of Sinaloa, a masters degree in Entomology and a diploma in Marketing from ITESM. Borbolla is based in Guadalajara, Mexico.
