Bayer launches "Drone CropStar" to control nematodes‏ in Brazilqrcode

Bayer Crop Science introduced its "Drone CropStar" - a new tool brought by the company to supervise and manage agricultural fields against nematode attacks. The launch was done during the 32nd Brazilian Congress of Nematology, held in Londrina, Brazil, from June 15 to June 19.
 
According to Embrapa Soja Londrina (soybean division of Embrapa), Brazil's soybean yields could jump from 5% to 8% if not attacked by nematodes such as pratylenchus brachyurus, the soybean cyst (heterodera glycines), and the root-knot nematode (Meloidogyne ssp). 
 
"Since 2012, we have intensified soul collections and researches to identify in the main regions with nematode problems. Now we've done the second step and developed a system that will cross data of soil analysis with several images made by the drone. Therefore, we can identify the focus of incidents and work on the management and control of the plagues," Bayer CropScience SeedGrowth manager, Sigfried Baumann highlighted.
