AgroPages-EU extends biocide deadline for insecticides-Agricultural news

Data submission deadlines under the EU review of biocides have been extended for six insecticides and six repellents/attractants to April 30th 2008. The insecticides comprise: azamethiphos, diazinon, fenitrothion, geraniol, hydramethylnon and propoxur. The repellents/attractants are: linalool, geraniol, carbon dioxide, methyl anthranilate, oct-1-ene-3-ol and pyrethrins/pyrethroids. The European Commission made the move after new companies came forward to support the active ingredients through the review. The 12 ais were part of a group of substances for which the original participants had withdrawn or no ai dossier had been received by the deadline of April 30th 2006. The Commission issued a call for new supporters last year.
