Bayer recently announced a total revenue of R$ 8.30 billion (US$ 2.8 billion) in South American country in 2014. This number considers the revenue generated by the different sections of the company: CropScience (Agriculture), HealthCare, and Material Science.

"In 2014, Brazil maintained as the fourth largest market of Bayer in the world. Even in an atypical scenario with fierce competition, election, and the World Cup, we were able to have a significant growth of Bayer in Brazil," said Theo van der Loo, president of Bayer in Brazil.

Bayer CropScience had a sales growth of 24% reaching R$ 5.45billion (US$ 1.75 billion). The division accounted for 66% of the total sales volume of the group in the country.

A highlight in the market was the cooperation agreement signed with the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) in the areas of science and technology, which aims to bring innovative solutions to Brazilian famers and to contribute with sustainable development. The partnership will be effective until 2019.

Among the technologies launched by Bayer CropScience in 2014 were Veritas™, considered a contribution to soybeans and kidney beans yields, and the Fibermax® seed with the technology GLT (GlyTol®-LibertyLink®-TwinLink®) designed to increase gains with cotton. The sales of Fox® and Belt® were mentioned as the products with the best performance in 2014 compared to 2013 in the country.
