BASF Canada has recently expanded the availability of Armezon® herbicide (topramezone) to include Western Canada.

Armezon herbicide provides post-emergent weed control in corn. It offers excellent crop safety, flexible recropping and a wide application window. When tank-mixed with glyphosate, Armezon provides multiple modes of action on annual grasses and broadleaf weeds.

"Keeping corn fields weed free early in the season can have a major impact on yield," said Deven Esqueda, Brand Manager, Corn and Soybean Herbicides at BASF Canada. "Using HEAT® LQ as a pre-seed burndown followed by Armezon will help growers keep their corn clean during that critical period."

Armezon provides a unique Group 27 active ingredient to control tough weeds like wild mustard, barnyard grass and green foxtail. Control of volunteer canola has also recently been added to the label. BASF has submitted to the Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency for a label expansion to include resistant kochia control.

"Armezon gives us a lot of options," said Warren McCutchen, a grower from Carman, Manitoba. "Volunteer canola comes in late sometimes and we can put Armezon on up until the corn starts filling in the rows and see good control with no damage to the crop."
