AgroPages-New Zealand hearing on reassessment of dichlorvos-Agricultural news

The New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) will hold a public hearing in Wellington on May 6th-7th regarding reassessment of the organophosphate insecticide, dichlorvos.

Dichlorvos is an organophosphate insecticide used to control a wide range of crawling and flying insects across the agricultural, horticultural, biosecurity and public health industries, and in domestic or home settings.

At the end of all presentations by the EPA and submitters, the decision-making committee will adjourn the hearing and make its decision. A final decision is usually made within 30 working days but may be longer if further information is sought by the committee.
