ICAMA approves pyraclostrobin registration for four companies

The Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) has recently approved the pyraclostrobin registration of two technical and three formulation products for four Chinese agchem companies. The details are as follows:

The patent of pyraclostrobin compound in China expired on June 20, 2015, and many Chinese companies are actively preparing the launch of new pyraclostrobin products in the market.
Pyraclostrobin is a strobilurin fungicide developed by BASF in 1993. This compound has high efficiency and a broad spectrum, controlling almost all types of fungal pathogens including ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, adelomycete and oomycetes. Pyraclostrobin has also been considered to have the ability to promote plant health, becoming the first product registered under the category of 'plant health' in US, EU and China.
Pyraclostrobin was first launched in 2001, reaching $930 million in sales in 2013. Its composition annual rate of growth (CARG) between 2004 and 2013 was at 13.61%, which was twice the number among global agchem markets in that period.
