Tetraconazole included in Annex Ⅰ

Isagro S.p.A. informs that the Council of Agriculture Ministers of the European Union adopted on July 13th, 2009 a directive whereby the active ingredient Tetraconazole is included in Annex I of the directive 91/414/EEC for a period of ten years.

This decision authorizes the use of Tetraconazole, an Isagro proprietary fungicide, on all the existing approved crops excluding grape and apple. As for the authorized uses, a limit of 100 g/ha in field crops every third year on the same field is fixed. The provisions will apply from 1st July, 2010.

Isagro expresses its satisfaction for the inclusion of its active ingredient in Annex I and anticipates that during the upcoming months will submit to the competent Authorities new studies which the Company considers being able to remove the above restrictions.

In this regard the Company expects that the evaluation and approval process will be fast enough to ensure the continuity of the commercial presence of Tetraconazole on all the crops for which the active ingredient is currently authorized in the European Union.
