Brazil has 96 registered products to control Boll weevil

The Boll weevil is considered the main pest of cotton crops in the Americas. If not controlled correctly, the insect can cause losses of up to 70% of production on account of its high reproduction capacity and elevated disruptive power.
Brazil has 96 registered products to control the Boll weevil, but not all brands are currently being sold. The data (in the Table) is updated with latest releases of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply and the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa).
The released products use active ingredients such as cypermethrin, methidathion, methomyl, fipronil, beta-cypermethrin, alpha-cypermethrin, deltamethrin, cyfluthrin, beta-cyfluthrin, endosulfan, imidacloprid, aluminum phosphide, grandlure, lambda-cyhalothrin, parathion methyl,malathion and others.
