China's ten-month agchem trade sees double-digit growth in 2014

According to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, pesticides import volume in October increased by 72.3% to 7 thousand tons, with import value down by 5.2% to $39.34 million. Pesticide export volume in October down by 1.0% to 72 thousand tons, with value down by 2.1% to $266 million.

In the first ten months of 2014, the total volume of imported pesticides was up by 22.1% to 77 thousand tons, with value increased by 10.6% to $647 million. The export volume increased by 6.1% to 990 thousand tons, with value up by 12.6% to $3,546 million.

Import specifics

In October, herbicide import largely increased by 244.6% to 2 thousand tons,with value down by 18.1% to $10.37 million. Insecticide volume was up 2.9% and value dropped by 14.9% to $4.34 million. Fungicide volume and value decreased by 2.9% and 16.0% to 2 thousand tons and $13.65 million respectively.

During the first ten months of 2014, the volume and value of fungicide import showed double-digit growth. The volume of fungicide was up by16.5% to 26 thousand tons, with value increased 12% to $279 million. Herbicide volume was up by 22.4% to 23 thousand tons, recording a 6.9% increase in value to $139 million. Import volume of insecticide was 9,000 tons (up 0.7%) and value was $139 million (up 1.8%).

Export specifics

In October, herbicide volume was down by 4.4% to 46 thousand tons ,with value down by 16.1% to $144 million. The export volume of insecticide grew by 8.3% to 18 thousand tons. For fungicide, the volume decreased by 3.3% to 6000 tons, with value of $31.23 million.

During the first ten months of 2014,the export of herbicides was up 6.5% to 689 thousand tons and 10.7% to $2,209 million, in terms of volume and value respectively. Insecticide export volume recorded a 6.0% increase to 203 thousand tons,with value up 18.6% to $906 million. The export of fungicide increased by 4.3% in volume and 9.4% in value.
