Given the great success of the program the Polish Crop Protection Association (PSOR) is launching another educational campaign “Every container counts” - which will encourage farmers and pesticide users to increase the number of collected containers to their Container Management Program.

The program is quite a simple process whereby a farmer or a pesticide user brings to designated shop clean triple rinsed containers and returns it at no costs. Seller participating in the scheme collects the containers and stores them in special bags. After filling the bags, seller contacts the designated operator that picks them up.

“With this program in 2013 alone we have collected 1700 tons of pesticide containers and surveys show that more than 70% of farmers and pesticide users return used pesticide packaging” – commented Anna Tuleja, Director General of PSOR.

The collection rate currently stands at 60% and it is one of the most efficient systems in Europe. Only a few other countries like Germany have such a high collection rate.

With the new campaign the Polish Container Management program aims to increase the collection rate. The goal of the European Crop Protection Association (ECPA) that PSOR is a member of is to achieve a recovery rate of 75% by 2020.
