AgroPages-China’s agchem production up 11% in September 2014-Agricultural news

According to National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China’s agrochemical production increased 10.92% year-on-year to 303.1 thousand tons in September 2014. From January to September, pesticide production increased by 3.73% to 2746.9 thousand tons, compared to the same period of last year.

In September, herbicides recorded an increase of 28.6% to 144.8 thousand tons, accounting for 47.8% of the total production, while insecticide production decreased by 12.2% to 44.6 thousand tons, making up 14.7% of the total production. The production of fungicide was 17.3 thousand tons, up by 6.6% on the figure of last year, representing 5.7% of the total volume.
