The Onder Law Firm announced the launch of its new website, Agrisure Viptera Corn Lawsuits. Serving as a resource to farmers, grain elevators, corn distributors and exporters, the new website provides timely Syngenta Viptera lawsuit news updates and information to proponents of the grain industry throughout the United States.

According to an October 11, 2014 Minneapolis Star Tribune article, Syngenta Viptera corn lawsuits have already been filed by farmers in 6 states around the nation. Current Syngenta corn lawsuits, such as one filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, alleged that Syngenta’s introduction of Agrisure Viptera GMO corn seed “crippled the 2013-14 corn export market to China”.

The lawsuits allege that Syngenta willfully misled farmers about importance of China as an export market for corn. According to court documents, plaintiffs have alleged Syngenta told them "the vast majority of corn produced in the US is used domestically," when in fact 20% of corn grown in the U.S. is exported. China has been a major importer of U.S. corn in recent years, and the country’s rejection of corn shipments is projected to be more than $1 billion in losses to the grain industry, according to the October 11 Star Tribune piece.
Farmers in general allege they have been harmed by Syngenta’s actions, citing a recent 11-cent-per-bushel drop in corn prices which they blame on actions taken Syngenta, according to the Star Tribune. The source of that figure, the National Grain and Feed Association, has advocated for Syngenta to halt the sales of Viptera corn, according to the news piece.
