BASF has more than 100 plot tours planned this summer to demonstrate the performance of the new Kixor (saflufenacil) herbicide technology.

Plot tours are scheduled from June through September at locations across the country to give retailers, distributors, consultants and media representatives an early look at the potent foliar and soil residual activity that the new active ingredient, Kixor herbicide, has on a broad spectrum of broadleaf weeds. BASF technical experts and crop specialists will be on hand to answer questions and explain the projected uses of products powered by Kixor herbicide technology. We anticipate registration and availability of these products in the third quarter of 2009.

The tour sites feature side-by-side comparisons of treated and untreated plots with trials demonstrating the projected preplant burndown and preemergence application timings, and also preview additional new products in the BASF pipeline.

"Kixor is a new chemistry that expands the BASF portfolio of crop protection products," said Dan Westberg, Ph.D., technical market manager, BASF. "Our discovery of the Kixor molecule is exciting because trials have shown it has a unique and innovative activity on more than 70 broadleaf weeds in more than 30 different crops."
