Brazil Ministry of Agriculture has defined 2014/2015 plan for monitoring and control of pesticide residues in food of plant origin. It was published at the Daily Official Gazette named the National Residue Control and Contaminants on plant origin Products (PNRC).

PNCRC is constituted by four subprograms: supervision, exploratory, imported products and research. The investigation is only open when a violation is detected during the supervision.

For the crop season 2014/2015, the number of collected samples will be 2,170. The number represents an increase compared to 2013/2014, when 1,875 samples were supervised. There was also an increase of the crops monitored, being 30 versus 21. The monitoring will cover 136 ais on corn, 129 on soybeans, 69 on wheat and 119 on rice. The collection of samples started in July 1st of 2014 and would be finished by June 30th of 2015.

PNRC also establishes the maximum residue limit (MRLs) allowed and the maximum tolerated limit (MTL).
