Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI), announced that Scott Peoples has joined the company as its Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Peoples will be responsible for driving demand creation of MBI’s suite of products to farmers and growers across the agriculture industry. He will also provide leadership in product management and business development activities.

“We are pleased to welcome Scott to MBI’s senior management as he will play a critical role in driving demand and penetration of our bio-based products, that promote plant health and control unwanted pests in agriculture and water,” said Pam Marrone, Chief Executive Officer of Marrone Bio Innovations. “The global market for bio-based agricultural solutions remains early in its growth curve and MBI is well-positioned to capitalize on this growth with our strengthened management team, our growing suite of effective and environmentally responsible products, new collaborations and partnerships, and our growing pipeline of new business opportunities.”

A 19 year veteran of the agriculture industry with 29 years of business experience, Peoples joins MBI from BASF where he served in several roles, including marketing manager, business development manager, global strategic marketing manager and most recently, Senior Global Business Manager for Herbicide Tolerance. Prior to BASF, Peoples held several positions at Monsanto, including field representative, and marketing and business manager of a Monsanto subsidiary focused on application equipment.
