Canada to approve Cheminova’s fungicide flutriafol

The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Authority (PMRA) proposes the registration of Cheminova’s fungicide flutriafol and end-product Fullback 125 SC, for use to control fungal diseases on apples, grapes, strawberries and soybeans. Flutriafol is a demethylase inhibitor fungicide with systemic activity, which provides broad spectrum control of certain ascomycetes and rust fungi on a range of crops. This fungicide was first registered by US EPA for use on apples and soybeans in 2010, then for use in corn in 2012.
The public comment period is from August 12 to September 26.
