ZEN-NOH Japan and INCOTEC Japan have agreed to start introducing the very innovative and new disinfection method ThermoSeed for the Japanese rice market. ThermoSeed was developed in Sweden and is now being marketed by the Dutch based company INCOTEC in many countries around the world.

The patented ThermoSeed technology is used to eradicate all kind of diseases present on seeds using hot humid air. The technology has been used successfully for many years on a commercial scale in several European countries for crops like wheat. Besides the eradication of all kinds of diseases such as fungi, bacteria and nematodes, the technology also has positive effects on germination speed and uniformity.
ZEN-NOH and INCOTEC have been testing the technology successfully for several years in Japan and now intend to intensify their cooperation by making the ThermoSeed technology available to Japanese farmers. Both companies believe that this new and very innovative technology will help growers to produce rice in a more sustainable way using less plant protection products.

Mr. Yamazaki, Managing Director of ZEN-NOH: “The purpose of this partnership agreement is to combine the unique knowledge and experience of both parties within the field of seed technology in rice, including ThermoSeed. In addition, we have agreed to increase the cooperation to include other crops like cereals in the field of seed treatment techniques.

Going forward, we aim to introduce ThermoSeed all over Japan through our prefectural federal organization and with the support of public institutions. This in order to facilitate the introduction of ThermoSeed which we see as a highly effective and environmentally friendly technology”.

Mr. Douwe Zijp, CEO of INCOTEC Group: “We are very proud and thankful to have closed this agreement with ZEN-NOH and believe that with this partnership we will be able to introduce a very innovative way of seed disinfection to the Japanese grower. This solution will help the Japanese grower to get a better start with the crop. With ZEN-NOH we have found the perfect partner and we are excited about this cooperation”.
