China's agchem export sales grew 19% in Dec 2013

China’s agchem import volume decreased 10.7% to 7,100 tons, while import value grew 7.4% to $ 58 million in Dec, 2013, according to the data released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs. In Dec, the country exported 85,800 tons pesticide, recording an increase of 13.5%, with export value substantially rising 19.3% to $ 306 million.

The country registered double-digit growth in both volume and value of import and export pesticides in the full year of 2013. The volume of pesticide import increased 10.6%, reaching 76,200 tons with value up 16.8% to $ 692 million. Pesticide export boosted by 22.1% and 31.0% in volume and value terms to 1095200 tons and $ 3.745 billion.  

Import specifics

Although cutting down by 27.2% to 2,800 tons, herbicide became the largest category of import pesticide in Dec. The volume of import insecticide sharply decreased 40% to 600 tons and import fungicide up 21% to 2,500 tons with value at $ 24 million.

In the full year, insecticide import volume and value reaches 10200 tons and $ 150 million, increasing by 17.9% and 15.3% respectively. Fungicide import volume grew 12.1% to 27000 tons, valued at $ 293 million. Herbicide import decreased 4.1% to 23500 tons and value up 19.2% to $ 167 million.

Export specifics

In Dec, herbicide kept its leadership of pesticide export with volume reaching 60,100 tons and value grew 25.3% to $ 199 million. Insecticide and fungicide exported 15,600 tons and 6,200 tons respectively.
