Bayer CropScience appoints new members to its Executive Committee![qrcode]()

Current Head of Agricultural Commercial Operations Lykele van der Broek will continue to oversee the further implementation of Bayer CropScience's market strategy until his planned retirement in mid-2014. His successor as Head of Agricultural Commercial Operations will be Marc Reichardt (51), who is currently in charge of the Region Latin America. Reichardt, a Spanish national, has worked in Bayer's Crop Protection business since 1985 and has gained broad experience of management from his positions in Marketing and Sales, Portfolio Management and country and regional business management.
Likewise newly appointed to the Executive Committee are Bernd Naaf (54), currently Head of the Region Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Dr. Dirk Backhaus (46), currently Head of Supply Chain Management & Strategy. Naaf and Backhaus will take over the duties of Gavin Marchant and Achim Noack respectively, both of whom are leaving the company at the end of the year for personal reasons. In addition to holding responsibility for Business Management, Naaf will take over the function of Labor Director and, in this capacity, will also become a Member of the Board of Management of Bayer CropScience AG. During the course of his career at Bayer, Naaf has gained extensive experience in Sales, Marketing and Business Administration in various regions such as Asia and the United States, and has worked in both the Crop Protection and Animal Health businesses at Bayer.
Dr. Dirk Backhaus will succeed Achim Noack as Head of Product Supply effective January 1, 2014. Backhaus joined Bayer in 1997 and after initially working in Research was subsequently in charge of Bayer CropScience's production in the Region Asia, and was most recently responsible for the subgroup's Supply Chain strategy and management.
Liam Condon thanked the departing Exco members. "Lykele, Achim and Gavin have made extremely important contributions to the lasting success of our company over the years. As such, they have earned our heartfelt thanks and our greatest respect," said Condon. "I am certain that our new Exco members will carry on their good work and be able to deliver significant impetus for the further development of our company."
