BASF has recently received the registration approval for its fungicide 98% fluxapyroxad technical from Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA). As per Chinese Pesticide Registration Watch, BASF is the first company approved for fluxapyroxad technical in China. The company also received registration for two fluxapyroxad products mixed with pyraclostrobin and epoxiconazole separately.

Fluxapyroxad is a fungicide active ingredient first developed by BASF. It disrupts fungal growth through inhibition of the enzyme succinate dehydrogenase (SDH). The fluxapyroxad product is for foliar and seed treatment applications against fungal diseases such as Septoria, Botrytis, Erysiphe, Cercospora, Puccinia, Rhizoctonia and Pyrenophora spp. in cereals, fruits and vegetables.

BASF applied for fluxapyroxad approval in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia in 2010. The product was first introduced in the UK for the use on cereals in 2011. In 2012, fluxapyroxad entered the North and South America and European market.

Fluxapyroxad was introduced in combination with pyraclostrobin and epoxiconazole as Orquestra Ultran in Argentina for soybeans. In 2012, BASF launched the mixture product of fluxapyroxad and pyraclostrobin as Priaxor in the USA and Canada. The mixture product of fluxapyroxad and epoxiconazole has received German and the UK registrations as Adexar.
