AgroPages-DuPont subsidiary acquires MapShots-Agricultural news

US-based DuPont business Pioneer Hi-Bred will acquire controlling ownership of MapShots Inc., a privately owned agricultural data management company that develops and sells proprietary crop management software, according to a company press release. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pioneer, which has had a long-standing business relationship with MapShots, will extend its Pioneer FIT mapping service and information available through GrowingPoint Web site record-keeping service.

MapShots will continue to sell, support, and enhance its EASi Suite software for growers and professional service providers, as well as also continue to license core precision ag components to other companies for inclusion in their products and services.
