3,500 people trained in Brazil on Dow’s Responsible Application Program in 2016qrcode

More than 3,500 rural producers were trained in 165 cities in Brazil in 2016, on farms that grow crops of soybeans, corn, sugarcane, and seed fields, as well as small farming and fruits, under the Responsible Application Program of Dow AgroSciences, in partnership with the Paulista State University of Botucatu.  

The program, one of Dow’s projects of Good Agricultural Practices, has been in existence since 2010 and has trained over 16,000 professionals in the field until now.

It was developed with the goal of presenting the concepts of good practices of application of pesticides, besides bringing awareness and pushing the adoption of these initiatives to optimize resources, reducing the environmental impact and providing more sustainability of the farm business.

The coordinator of Good Agricultural Practices of Dow AgroSciences, Ana Cristina Pinheiro, highlighted the importance of the program and expected it to continue in 2017 as well.

"Committed to the sustainability of the productive chain, Dow AgroSciences defends the quality and safety on the application of agrochemicals, and we have the goal to disseminate the importance of good agricultural practices with the focus on the concepts of technology application to a higher number of professionals."

The investment on technology and education is as per the goals of the company that focuses on the importance of the training to capacitate and disseminate the best recommendations through integrated practices at every stage of the production process.

"This program shows the commitment of the company with sustainability of the farm business, which inspires us to work more and better on the creation of technologies that help producers on a day by day basis," Pinheiro stressed.
